Love and Perseverance!
To celebrate this Easter, it is only right we talk about the perseverance of Christ. In his final days, Jesus persevered and endured trials before Jewish and Roman leaders with gentleness. I love to see perseverance as submitting to God’s control over whatever situation He chose for us yet embracing slowness without being passive. Perseverance is an important trait for a believer. Without it, we cannot learn and ultimately grow from our failures. Only by persevering can we overcome challenges and achieve victory smoothly.
We all know that loving the way Jesus loves is as hard as the rock of Dundee. But as a true follower, we must represent His love when life becomes difficult, remembering that the Holy Spirit has empowered us to withstand challenging situations with endurance – Gal 5-22-23. With my experience, embodying the energy of His love allowed me to unlock the strength within and find my most authentic self when my faith was tested, just as Jesus’ love compelled him to withstand longsuffering when the people shifted from shout of praise to roar of crucifixion. Love would sometimes bear us pain, however, this constancy is meant to test our faith and if we stick with the fruits of the spirit(love, patience, meekness) amid these hard times, not for a day, month, or year but for the rest of our lives. Faith will justify us because God’s love always triumphs over everything.
